NASCAR DAY & 2009 RICHMOND GREAT STRIDES WALK

GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. The Denny Hamlin Foundation is a presenting sponsor of the 2009 Richmond GREAT STRIDES walk. The Denny Hamlin Foundation was founded by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Denny Hamlin. Denny's resolve to win on the track is second only to his dedication to support children and youth suffering from debilitating childhood illnesses, including cystic fibrosis and pediatric cancer. While Denny will not personally be able to attend the walk in Richmond, he is asking you to join him in supporting CF research, and walk with his team on Saturday, May 16th at Innsbrook. Please help Denny meet his team fund-raising goal of $11,000 by walking, fund-raising, or simply making a donation. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as nearly 90 cents of every dollar of revenue raised is available for investment in vital CF programs to support research, care and education.

Denny Hamlin, Chesterfield, Va. native and driver of the #11 FedEx Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, is once again racing for charity at Southside Speedway this spring – and he’s bringing his friends.

On April 30, 2009 Hamlin will host the second annual “Short Track Showdown” at Southside Speedway in Richmond (Va.) to benefit the Denny Hamlin Foundation, and this season Hamlin is being joined by some of NASCAR’s biggest stars. Two-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion Tony Stewart will join Hamlin’s current Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Kyle Busch and Joey Logano, and race day spotter Curtis Markham, in a race against some of the South’s best short-track talent in a 175-lap Limited Late Model race.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That's why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later. To learn more about CF and the CF Foundation, visit www.cff.org.

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with CF! Thank you for supporting the Denny Hamlin Foundation, the mission of the CF Foundation and GREAT STRIDES!
